Flaker

1) Flaker Machine :

A Flaker Machine is an advanced sludge conditioning system designed to convert semi-solid sludge into free-flowing, flaky material. It plays a vital role in water and wastewater treatment plants (WTP & STP) by improving sludge handling, reducing moisture content, and preparing sludge for easy disposal or further processing.

At L.D. Engineering, our Flaker Machines are engineered for durability, efficiency, and low maintenance, making them ideal for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications.

Key Features

Outstanding hydraulic design prevents short circuits provide a low scour velocity, and supplies the required effluent quality.

  • Heavy-duty MS/SS construction
  • Corrosion-resistant coating for long service life
  • High torque drive system
  • Uniform sludge flaking mechanism
  • Low power consumption
  • Easy operation and maintenance
  • Custom-built design as per plant capacity

Working Principle

The Flaker Machine receives dewatered sludge from filter press or centrifuge systems. The rotating flaker shaft breaks and granulates the sludge cake into small, manageable flakes. This process:

  • Improves drying efficiency
  • Prevents lump formation
  • Reduces handling and transportation issues
  • Enhances sludge disposal efficiency

Applications

  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
  • Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)
  • Industrial wastewater treatment facilities
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical industries
  • Food processing industries

Benefits

  • Better sludge management
  • Reduced manpower requirement
  • Cleaner plant operation
  • Lower disposal cost
  • Increased operational efficiency
